What does it take to be eligible for participation in your Supplemental Income 401(k) Plan? If you're an employee covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, which provides for participation in the Plan, you're eligible to contribute. Your union and employer select one of the following four eligibility periods.
Employees first become eligible to participate in the Plan after working:
- The first hour of service,
- One month,
- Six months, or
- Any period of time not to exceed one year (if the Subscriber Agreement requires a year of service to become eligible to participate in the Plan, the year of service will be measured using the 12 consecutive month period beginning on the date you first perform an hour of service for any employer provided that you completed at least 1,000 hours of service).
If you have worked for one or more employers during the year and believe that you have worked at least 1,000 hours of service during the year, contact the administrative office concerning your eligibility to participate.
If you have already worked for your employer for the full eligibility period required by the Subscriber Agreement on the date your employer begins to participate in the Plan, you will become eligible to participate immediately.
