PARSIPPANY, N.J., March 8, 2005 – NYLIM Retirement Plan Services, a division of New York Life Investment Management LLC (NYLIM), has appointed John Santaguida, a retirement industry veteran, to manage its sales channel that focuses on member-directed Taft-Hartley retirement plans.
Mr. Santaguida, who has more than 20 years of sales, marketing and management experience in financial services, has been named director of sales in the Taft-Hartley market.
“I have known John for most of our careers and I am so excited at the prospect that we can work together again,” said Barry Schub, executive vice president of NYLIM Retirement Plan Services. “He is a consummate professional, a talented salesperson and marketer, and an experienced Taft-Hartley veteran. Mr. Santaguida joins NYLIM Retirement Plan Services from Wachovia where he served for five years as national sales manager for that company’s mid-market institutional retirement plan business. Prior to that, he was a business development officer for Wachovia (then First Fidelity Bank) focused on New Jersey-based corporate and Taft-Hartley retirement plans. Earlier in his career, Mr. Santaguida worked at Bankers Trust, where he served in a number of marketing and sales positions, including selling into the Taft-Hartley market. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from George Washington University, a Masters of Business Administration from New York University and a certificate in sales management from Columbia University.
