New York Life Retirement Plan Services Announces Several Key Management Appointments
-Strengthens Firm’s Focus on Service Excellence for Sponsors and Participants-

WESTWOOD, Mass., October 25, 2007 – In an effort to continue its focus on service excellence for plan sponsors and participants, New York Life Retirement Plan Services, a division of New York Life Investment Management LLC (NYLIM), has announced several key management changes and appointments.  These hirings and promotions will further the firm’s initiatives to assist plan sponsors in managing their plans more effectively and to deliver personalized solutions to retirement plan participants.

In order to support its continued focus on plan sponsor initiatives, New York Life Retirement Plan Services announced that starting immediately, Joan Driscoll, formerly managing director of client and participant service and administration, will be assuming the position of managing director, client strategy group.  In this role, Driscoll will now oversee the relationship management team, and will lead client strategy initiatives for the organization.  In addition, she will continue to oversee the participant service center. Driscoll will report to Tom Clough, senior managing director.

Assuming part of Driscoll’s former role will be Manuel Mauricio, who will head the plan administration team and will report to Clough.

Peter Kooken, formerly director of marketing, will become director of client strategy, responsible for all activities related to broad client communication initiatives, reporting to Driscoll.  Wendy Wong, will become director of marketing, reporting to Jeff Keller, managing director of strategy and marketing. Wong previously had led participant product development initiatives for the firm.

In order to strengthen service for and ongoing relationships with retirement plan participants, New York Life has appointed Trudy Kaehler as director of its participant strategy group, which includes the participant communications development group, communications consulting, and participant experience efforts.  Kaehler joined New York Life in early 2007 from Fidelity Investments where she was vice president of participant experience.  Kaehler also reports to Tom Clough.

Steven Dorval, managing director, has been appointed to run New York Life Retirement Plan Services’ asset retention and consolidation initiatives, a vital component in the company’s future growth plans.  He will also oversee the trust operations for the firm. Dorval will also continue to oversee investment services, his current role, and will continue reporting to Don Salama in this newly created position.

“As we continue to grow in all areas of our business, it is crucial that we continue to prioritize client service and focus on our retirement plan participants,” said Don Salama, senior managing director and head of New York Life Retirement Plan Services.  “Each of these appointments and promotions recognizes the importance we place on interacting with participants, sponsors and intermediaries and we’re thrilled to have all these talented folks being recognized for their important contributions to this effort.”

New York Life Retirement Plan Services was recognized again in 2006 by PlanSponsor magazine, Boston Research Group’s DC Survey and 401kExchange as a top rated retirement plan provider and wins many industry accolades for its client service excellence.  The firm’s assets under administration have grown from $7 billion five years ago to more than $25 billion today.
