Gary L. Goodenough
Managing Director, MacKay Shields LLC
Co-Head of Fixed Income
Mr. Goodenough joined MacKay Shields in 2000. He was previously a Senior Portfolio Manager at Loomis Sayles & Co. for seven years, and a Managing Director at Bears Stearns and at Salomon Brothers. While at Salomon Brothers, Mr. Goodenough was a Managing Director of high-yield bonds for three years and a Managing Director of global bonds for two years. Mr. Goodenough has 26 years of investment experience and earned an A.B. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. with distinction from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Christopher T. Harms
Managing Director, MacKay Shields LLC
Mr. Harms joined MacKay Shields' Fixed Income area in 1991 and became a Managing Director in 1999. Previously, Mr. Harms spent five years with Bear Stearns Asset Management as an Associate Director and Portfolio Manager. Prior to that, he was a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager for five years with Mellon Bank. He graduated from Villanova University with a B.S./B.A. in Finance and obtained his M.B.A. in International Economics at Drexel University. Mr. Harms has been involved in fixed-income investment management since 1980.
Joseph Portera, Jr.
Managing Director, MacKay Shields LLC
Mr. Portera is a Managing Director and Global Sovereign Manager at MacKay Shields. He returned to MacKay Shields in 1996 after working at Fiduciary Trust Company International as a Portfolio Manager in International Bonds. Previously, he was with MacKay Shields as an International Fixed Income Portfolio Manager. Prior to MacKay Shields, he spent three years as an International Portfolio Manager with ABN-AMRO, the largest Dutch bank. Before ABN-AMRO, Mr. Portera was an officer in the international research and trading department of Chemical Bank. He received a B.A. in Soviet Studies and an M.A. in International Political Economy and Development from Fordham University. Mr. Portera has been in the investment management and research industry since 1981.
