If you are invested in MainStay Funds, you automatically have online account access.
To get started, all you have to do is create a Personal Identification Number (PIN).
You'll need to set up a Reset PIN Question and Answer only if you want to be able to reset your PIN online at some point in the future.
If you are a new user, you'll need to set up a Reset PIN Question and Answer when you create a PIN for your account.
If you are an existing shareholder with online account access, click on the Change PIN button and follow the instructions to change your PIN and enter a Reset PIN Question and Answer.
If you forget your PIN, you can reset your PIN online only after previously establishing a Reset PIN Question and Answer. From the Account Login page, enter your SSN under Returning Users and click on the Reset PIN button. You will be shown your Reset PIN Question and prompted to enter your answer. Once your answer has been verified, you will be prompted to enter your account number and create a new PIN. For security purposes, your current Reset PIN Question and Answer will be discarded. You must enter a new Reset PIN Question and Answer to be able to reset your PIN online in the future.

Why are some account options only available with certain Funds?
There could be a number of reasons. Account options, such as purchasing additional shares, requires you to provide bank information in advance. Also, some Funds inherently have certain features. Only MainStay Money Market Fund has a check writing capability and, therefore, is the only Fund for which you can request additional checks. Finally, certain options are available on a seasonal basis. Tax forms are generally available from January 30 through November 30 of each year.
If you would like to add available options to your account, please visit our Account Service Forms page to download the appropriate form, or call us toll-free at 800-MAINSTAY (624-6782), from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Eastern time.
You can only make an exchange from one Fund to another only if both Funds are in the same share class. If the Funds are in different share classes, this option will not be available from the Manage Account page.
Why can't I take advantage of systematic purchases?
The ability to make systematic purchases is only available if your bank information has already been established with us. If we don't have your bank information on file, this option will not be available from the Manage Account page. To set up your bank information, please call us at 800-MAINSTAY (624-6782), from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Eastern time.
