NEW YORK, June 6, 2007 – New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM) Fixed Income Investors Group (FIIG) today announced that Thomas Girard has joined the organization and will spearhead its new Portfolio Management and Strategy Group as managing director and senior portfolio manager.   Girard will report to Anthony Malloy, senior managing director and head of the Fixed Income Investors Group.

“We’re excited to have someone of Tom Girard’s skill and experience join NYLIM. Working closely with our talented team of investment professionals, Tom will help us expand our third party fixed income capabilities in Core, Core Plus, Stable Value as well as other strategies,” said Malloy. 

Girard was formerly managing director and co-head of Fixed Income at Robeco Investment Management/Weiss Peck & Greer. He was a portfolio manager for a number of fixed income strategies, including the firm's core, enhanced core, short duration and intermediate duration products.  Girard was responsible for developing specific investment strategies for institutional clients, including insurance companies and pension funds. 

Prior to joining Weiss Peck & Greer, Girard worked as a portfolio manager with Bankers Trust, where he managed money markets, asset backed securities and corporate bonds.  He also managed financial reporting and securities lending at JP Morgan and worked as a CPA with Peat Marwick. 

Girard is a graduate of St. John Fisher College (BS in Accounting) and Fordham University (MBA in Finance).
