SAN FRANCISCO, May 3, 2006 -- McMorgan & Company (McMorgan), one of the nation’s largest specialized investment management firms, today announced the promotion of Mark Taylor to executive vice president, director of real estate.  He will oversee more than $1.5 billion in real estate assets managed by a staff of 25 investment professionals.

“Over the past fifteen years, Mark has demonstrated a deep commitment to McMorgan’s investment philosophy and our focus on financing projects.  Mark has been a key contributor to the growth of the firm’s real estate investments since joining us in 1991 and we are excited to see his success continue as he takes the helm of our Real Estate Investments Group,” said Jim Moss, chief executive officer of McMorgan. 

As executive vice president, Taylor helped increase net assets in the McMorgan Institutional Real Estate Fund I, LLC from $199 million at year end 2003 to $877 million at year end 2005.  He has been a member of McMorgan’s Real Estate Investment Committee since October 2001.

Prior to joining McMorgan, Taylor worked with Grubb & Ellis Development Company, RREEF Funds, and Bramalea Limited, a major Canadian real estate developer.  He holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Stanford University.
