Richard Schwartz, Senior Managing Director
Mr. Schwartz is a Senior Managing Director of New York Life Investment Management LLC (NYLIM). He is responsible for all hedging activity for the General Account of New York Life and also serves as Chief Investment Officer for NYLIM Guaranteed Products. Previously he oversaw portfolio management, quantitative analysis and hedging for the general account assets supporting New York Lifes Insurance products.
Mr. Schwartz joined New York Life in 1989 as a trader and portfolio manager in the pension department specializing in mortgage-backed securities and was appointed Stable Value Chief Investment Officer in 1993.
Prior to joining New York Life, Mr. Schwartz worked with The First Boston Corporation as an analyst in fixed income research from 1983 to 1985 where he undertook original research in the area of bond portfolio management. From 1987 to 1989, he was a mortgage-backed securities trader at First Boston.
Mr. Schwartz received an MBA in finance at the Wharton School in 1987, where he served as President of the Investment Banking Club. He graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1983 with a B.S. in business administration and a minor in economics.
