Summary of Responsibilities: New York Life Trust Company acts as a self directed trustee or custodian for retirement clients utilizing New York Life Retirement Plan Services. In addition, New York Life Trust Company serves as the trustee on New York Life Investments IRAs and collective trust funds. The Trust Officerwill provide trust administration which includes the approval and acceptance of assets, research and interpretation of simple to complex inquiries, and performing required actions based on document provisions, applicable state statutes, trust and/or probate codes. This position is in a centralized environment requiring daily interaction and communication with Compliance, Legal, Finance and Operations personnel. Must communicate with credibility and confidence, demonstrate a functional knowledge of trust, show professional concern for quality work, and have a strong commitment to successfully meeting deadlines and responsibilities. This is a part time position, approximately 20 hours a week. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: The Trust Officer has overall responsibilities of coordinating and managing the execution of Trust Agreements, ensuring the timelines and accuracy of required filings, and monitoring cash activity of the Trust Company. This includes accounts payable and receivable. Responsible for day to day trust operations thatinsure the minimization ofrisk, confidentiality of clients, and compliance with regulatory and internal procedures. Responsible formaximizing the use of the trust accounting system to improve the office's efficiency. Serve as the primary contact for regulators and internal auditors. Preparationand reporting out ofmanagement reports for the various trust management committees. This includes the coordinating the preparation of the Report of Income and Condition (Call Report) filed with the appropriate agencies. Review the reconciliation of the New York Life Trust Companys various bank accounts: Receipt, Disbursement, and Tax accounts on a regular basis. Liaising with relationship managers, accountants and other departments to ensure efficient handling of all mandates; Acts as a liaison between Trust Operations and New York Life Trust Company as it relates to all activities performed. Perform periodic reviews and risk assessment of work performed on behalf of the Trust Company. Advise team members on technical matters. Other responsibilities as required. Job Requirements: Ability to review and understand moderate to complex trust documents Strong communication skills both verbal and written Trust experience with defined contribution, defined benefit, non-qualified retirement plan.
